Hassan Fundi was one of two Lonmin security guards who were murdered five days before police opened fire on the protesting miners.
Fundi lived with his wife, Aisha, in a suburb of Rustenburg. She said she could not reveal any information about her husband, or provide a picture of him, before a family meeting to be held at the weekend.
According to reports at the time, Fundi and his colleague, Frans Matlhomola Mabelane, were burned to death on the Saturday – and mine officials only discovered their bodies the following Monday.
